Nurse Manager

Women's Health OB / GYN nursing is a specialty within the nursing profession that encompasses the care of individuals across the life span who present with physical, emotional, or psychological alterations of health. The Nurse Manager plans, directs and coordinates patient care in the ambulatory clinics and is responsible for the organization of services and systems necessary for a multidisciplinary approach to care. Assumes daily responsibility for process and performance improvement activities, as well as operational details of the clinic. Will assist the Director in advising medical staff and administrators in matters related to clinic functions. Provides leadership for the Lincoln Center OB / GYN Urish and Central clinics, Maternal Fetal Medicine Clinic and other ancillary departments to promote perinatal care. This individual is responsible for collaboration and coordination of activities related to Perinatal patients through the Stormont Vail Health System. The Nurse Manager will have assistance and support from the Perinatal Committee on position responsibilities. The Nurse Manager will work closely with the Administrative Director and Director for Maternal Child Services, NICU and Pediatric Nurse Manager, OB, NIC and Pediatric Medical Directors, Patient Quality Services, and all departments in contact with perinatal patients in the planning, development, and implementation of the perinatal care program goals and operations.

Education Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's of Science in Nursing (BSN) Required

Experience Qualifications :

  • 3 years Nursing experience. Required
  • 1 year Supervising or managing others. Required
  • A3 and / or LEAN experience. Preferred
  • Skills and Abilities :

  • Knowledge / understanding of the department standards related to the care of the acutely ill or injured patient. Demonstrated success in clinical practice and team building. (Required proficiency)
  • Ability to lead through influence in a complex system environment. (Required proficiency)
  • Good organizational skills and the ability to coordinate and delegate work assignments; to set priorities and accomplish a wide variety of tasks. (Required proficiency)
  • Knowledge of the administrative, professional and clinical organization of Stormont-Vail Health. (Required proficiency)
  • Ability to work collaboratively with the Director and other department physicians and staff. (Required proficiency)
  • Licenses and Certifications :

  • Registered Nurse - KSBN A multistate license with the ability to practice within the State of Kansas is also accepted. Required
  • Basic Life Support - BLS Required within 90 days of hire.
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Certificate - NRP Required within 90 days of hire.

  • Recruits and interviews applicants. Able to maintain, make adjustments, and communicate position control.
  • Accountable to developing staff through education and competencies.
  • Responsible for staff performance evaluations and providing constructive feedback and ongoing coaching.
  • Maintains appropriate standards for discipline and termination in collaboration with the Administrative Director.
  • Supports the direction and vision of the organization and is able to communicate effectively to the team.
  • Responsible for sound fiscal management to include staffing, allocating resources, and coordinating expenditures for equipment and supplies. Assists Director with creating and managing operating and capital budget.
  • Travel Requirements :

  • 20% Travel between departments or clinics as necessary.
