DESCRIPTION

Under the close technical supervision of the Clinical Lab Supervisor, the incumbent performs technical tasks in their assigned area in accordance with all applicable policies and procedures.

Specific duties in the Immunogenetic Transplantation Laboratory will include receipt and processing of clinical specimens submitted for diagnostic testing.

Receiving specimens from couriers, accessioning specimens in the laboratory information system, processing specimens, preparing aliquots for further testing, and sending samples to other locations.

Additional duties may include supply / inventory management, lab related clerical support, communications with laboratory customers, and other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Graduation from college with a major in an applicable natural science; or two years of college courses in the natural sciences plus two years of applicable experience;

or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

One year of previous experience in a clinical laboratory setting properly identifying, prioritizing, processing / preparing all specimens in a manner that ensures viability and sample integrity throughout the pre- analytic, analytic, and post analytic processes in accordance with all applicable policies and procedures.

Experience with the operation, and maintenance of analyzers and instruments in accordance with all applicable policies and procedures as assigned.

Experience with properly, accurately and legibly preparing all required documentation / maintain / handle all required records, including computer data entry, in accordance with all applicable policies and procedures as assigned.

Communicates effectively with co-workers, customers, staff, others and serves as a technical resource as needed.

Knowledge and abilities essential to the successful performance of the duties assigned to the position.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Two years of clinical laboratory experience.

SPECIAL CONDITIONS

  • Must be able to work all shifts, week-ends, overtime, and at various locations as necessary in accordance with operational needs.
  • Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range : $60,844 - $75,606 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent : $29.14 - $36.21

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.

The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position.

The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
