Internship Opportunity In The Office Of Financial Management
Sarasota County Government is seeking an intern in the Office of Financial Management department to assist with Grants Administration, primarily COVID related funding. This is a unique opportunity for an inquisitive and self-motivated individual to make a positive impact on the citizens of Sarasota County by assisting with the research, implementation and management of COVID related grant funding.
Intern Responsibilities :
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, orally and in writing.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced atmosphere.
- Ability to research, interpret, and report on federal and state legislation.
- Assist in the operation and management of funding and programs according to federal and state grant requirements.
General Duties :
Assist the Office of Financial Management Grants team with required reporting, tracking, and management of grant related funding, primarily COVID related funding.Assist with research as well as the development of tools to assist with assessment, planning, tracking and implementation of COVID related funding according to federal guidelines.Research and maintain changes in legislation and funding centered around COVID related funding.Utilize Microsoft products such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint to provide feedback and analysis of data.Minimum Qualifications :
High School Diploma or equivalent required.Must be currently enrolled in a college / university (Proof of current enrollment required at time of application.)May consider recent graduate of master's program.Preferred Qualifications :
Candidates currently working toward a degree in Finance or closely related field.Pay Range : $13.00 - $20.00 (Pay rate is determined by year in school / hours completed.)
Internship Duration : Approximately 3 months
