Director, Program Management, Enterprise Program Management Office (TEMP)

The Enterprise Program Management Office (EPMO), is a centralized enabler function responsible for leading complex and highly strategic company programs that require significant enterprise-wide cross-functional coordination.

We are the ultimate dot connectors. Our mission is to create effective flow, collaboration, and clarity that redirects energy of functional experts towards their primary expertise and enables faster delivery of outcomes.

This team lives for our client's People Principles and strives to model those behaviors. We believe that Activate Caring is the key unlocking mechanism to Move Fast to Make it Real and Be Customer Obsessed.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Director EPMO is a skilled and experienced Program Management Practitioner, effective at using the entire PMP toolkit, and capable of performing both strategic and tactical work that involves masterfully managing the lifecycle of a complex set of initiatives.

The Director must have an innate ability to problem solve and organize through ambiguity and be able to deliver most work independently with limited guidance from EPMO teammates.

This role has high visibility and will require working globally across all our client's orgs, marketplaces, and withfau teams.

As a Director EPMO, you will :

  • Own enterprise-wide coordination of multiple complex and strategic company programs with a high degree of ambiguity and constant evolution, connecting the dots across workstreams to enable high quality and on-time delivery of outcomes.
  • Manage an assigned portfolio of the most critical projects and programs regardless of topic or prior experience. Projects are a mix of short-term (6 months or less) and long-term.
  • Demonstrate a willingness to roll up your sleeves and work shoulder to shoulder with your teams, taking on tasks that may not traditionally fall into activities considered project management, in order to better understand the work or unblock the team.
  • Help drive continuous clarity with program teams as business and / or program strategy definition evolves over time.
  • Work across our Client, applying broad strategic influence, continuously unblocking teams, aligning teams toward simple, coherent approaches.
  • Help teams make trade-offs between short-term and long-term needs and ensure teams are able to find a path forward in difficult situations.
  • Effectively run and manage the business cadence of programs (meetings, planning, reviews) as needed, driving detailed discussions, high-level alignment, and complex decisions.
  • Be a top-notch communicator, regularly producing detailed and executive-level and team-level verbal and written communications of high fidelity, and including taking and sending meeting notes, when needed.
  • Continuously improve, streamline, eliminate excess process, drive efficiencies, and create standardization of work when possible.
  • Be a conduit, not a bottleneck.
  • Never be bored.

Be one of the first applicants, read the complete overview of the role below, then send your application for consideration.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS & BEHAVIORS

  • 6+ years of experience in program or project management.
  • Highly organized individual with strong time management, problem solving, and team facilitation skills.
  • Highly proactive with an ability to work with cross-functional teams under tight deadlines.
  • Proven experience owning 2 or more concurrent complex programs and end-to-end delivery with multiple workstreams.
  • Proven experience contributing to major company initiatives and development of business strategies.
  • Ability to rapidly understand the interworkings of complex systems and workflows among teams, with a driving need to understand not just when and by who the work must be performed but also the why and how.
  • Sound business judgment, leading with data, and comfortable making quick decisions.
  • Strong influencing skills to create harmony and build consensus around customer needs without direct authority.
  • Compelling storyteller with exceptional written and verbal skills to communicate to an executive audience.
  • Able to follow rigorous standards but flexible enough to balance which of your own activities and stakeholder commitments are most important across your entire portfolio of projects.
  • High level of curiosity or passion for learning about new products, people, and market segments.
  • Eager to dive deep, participate in healthy debate, and align differing viewpoints around the best path forward.
  • Willingness to voice tough questions and offer solutions, knowing that your ideas and experience are valid but are also only starting points for learning more from your subject matter experts.
  • Readiness to stretch yourself by saying yes to assignments outside of your experience and comfort zone.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Active PMP, PRINCE2, Lean / Six Sigma, Agile Certified practitioner.
  • Solid understanding of our Client's and processes, systems, teams, and ways of working.
  • Experience working directly with C-suite executives including independently building and leading presentations, facilitating and participating in discussions, and providing key inputs to strategic decisions.
  • Global thinker with experience working on initiatives involving teams around the world.
