Donor Relations Officer (Staff Associate), Department of Planning, Research and Resources
Non-Unit Professional position, 37.5 hours / week
Campus Location : Danvers

GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES :
Reporting to the Director of Development in the college's Planning, Research and Resources Department, the Donor Relations Officer works collaboratively with development staff and across college departments to grow the college's donor base and the NSCC Foundation's endowment.
Priorities include the identification, cultivation and solicitation of donors and prospects, as well as active and engaged stewardship, through the following opportunities : annual fund, alumni giving, scholarship program, major gifts, special events, and planned giving.
Portfolio includes donors and prospects with a range of giving capacity and diverse connections to the College and / or our mission.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
- Oversees the Annual Fund program, including content development, production schedule, solicitations, donor / prospect follow-up and closing gifts.
- Develops and oversees alumni giving program, with emphasis on philanthropic engagement and leveraging partnerships for the college
- Manages fundraising for the scholarship program, including solicitations for new and renewal gifts, initiates and / or re-negotiates donor agreements, and collaborates on the scholarship application / awarding process and annual donor / awardee reception.
- Engages donors and prospects with planned giving opportunities to benefit the college and our students.
- Supports special events with donor / prospect identification, outreach, engagement, as well as collaborating on communication and collateral, and contributing to the management of on-site logistics at events.
- Maintains an active portfolio of donors and prospects, utilizing research tools and Banner Self Service for Advancement.
Tracks activity and progress toward fundraising goals.
- Collaborates with faculty and staff as needed to develop proposals, collateral, and visits / experiential opportunities as need.
- Prepares briefings, proposals, and correspondence for college leadership with donors / prospects.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements :
- Bachelor's degree required, minimum of 5 years of full-time, progressively responsible professional experience in fundraising in higher education or nonprofit setting, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Demonstrated experience with creating appeals, proposals, donor agreements / MOUs, and reports on outcomes
- Demonstrated experience with effective prospecting, relationship-building, and stewardship
- Demonstrated ability to identify and manage donor / prospect information
- Experience managing special events and projects
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Experience using Banner Advancement or related fundraising database (i.e. Raiser's Edge, Salesforce, etc.)
- Proficient in Microsoft programs
- Successful experience interacting with culturally diverse populations
- Candidates will be required to pass a CORI / SORI and / or National background check as a condition of employment.
