Key Responsibilities :
- Financial Reporting : Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP or other relevant standards.
- Month-End and Year-End Close : Oversee the month-end and year-end closing processes, including account reconciliations, journal entries, and variance analysis.
- Budgeting and Forecasting : Assist in the development of budgets and financial forecasts, and monitor actual performance against these benchmarks.
Provide variance analysis and insights into the financial health of the organization.
- Accounts Payable and Receivable : Manage the accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices, payments, and collections.
- Internal Controls : Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the accuracy of financial data.
Regularly assess and improve accounting processes to increase efficiency and reduce risk.
Team Leadership : Supervise and mentor a team of accountants and financial analysts, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.
Foster a positive and productive work environment.
- Compliance and Audit : Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including tax laws. Coordinate with external auditors during the annual audit process and prepare necessary documentation.
- ERP and Financial Systems : Oversee the use and maintenance of accounting software and ERP systems, ensuring data integrity and supporting system upgrades or implementations as needed.
- Cash Management : Monitor cash flow, manage banking relationships, and oversee treasury functions to ensure adequate liquidity for the organization.
- Ad Hoc Reporting : Provide financial analysis and reporting for special projects, including M&A activities, cost-saving initiatives, and strategic planning.
Qualifications :
- Education : Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A CPA or CMA certification is often preferred.
- Experience : Typically requires 5-7 years of accounting experience, with at least 2-3 years in a supervisory or management role.
- Technical Skills : Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and advanced Excel skills. Familiarity with ERP systems is often required.
- Knowledge : Strong understanding of GAAP and other relevant accounting standards. Knowledge of tax regulations and compliance requirements.
- Soft Skills : Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
