THE OPPORTUNITY
The Katmint Learning Initiative seeks a full-time and or part-time, dedicated ECE Lead Teacher. 2 years minimum classroom experience is required.
Our desired Lead Teacher will guide and shape the learning environment for students ages 1 - 5 yrs. Successful candidates are creative organizers and thinkers who are passionate about designing and facilitating interactive learning and development experiences, such as : read-alouds, classroom rituals, hands-on art-making, and math games.
The Lead Teacher will respond to student interests by creating emergent curriculum themes as appropriate and with the support of assistant teachers.
This role requires working closely with the educational director. As well as communicate and build strong relationships with families.
The teacher must be energetic, employ humor, and exude professionalism. We seek an educator looking to join and contribute to a dynamic faculty.
The Lead Teacher will model a love of learning, respect for others, and investment in the classroom and school community.

- Designs engaging curriculum and is inspired to implement emergent curriculum.

- Has worked successfully with children ages 1 years to 5 years.
- Displays positivity and enthusiasm.
The Lead Teacher’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to :
- Multi-tasking, delegating, and meeting various due dates.
- Integrating real-world learning and the surrounding community into the units of study, lessons, and classroom culture.
- Co-creating and sustaining a clean, tidy classroom environment.
- Maintaining a classroom budget.
- Creating monthly bulletin-board updates.
- Connecting and partnering with parents in various ways, such as email exchanges and parent conferences.
Qualifications : Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education (ECE) or related field of study
- New York State Teaching Certification in Early Childhood Education or be study plan eligible (90 Credits in Early Childhood, Childhood or Equivalent)
- 1-3 years of relevant teaching experience preferred
- Infant, Adult CPR / First Aid Certification
- Prior Department of Health / OCFS Trainings
- Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and Google DRIVE.
