Piedmont Virginia Community College (PVCC) is a nonresidential two-year institution of higher education that serves Central Virginia principally residents of the City of Charlottesville and the counties of Albemarle, Buckingham, Fluvanna, Greene, Louisa and Nelson.
Our scenic campus is located in Albemarle County, Virginia. We are one of 23 community colleges in Virginia that comprise the Virginia Community College System (VCCS).

We are seeking to identify qualified and interested adjunct faculty members in the following teaching disciplines and / or subject areas : DIAGNOSTIC MEDICAL SONOGRAPHY
Duties and Responsibilities :
Teaching Diagnostic Medical Sonography (DMS) content in classroom and campus laboratories. This position requires faculty to design course syllabi and develop course materials related to DMS.
Excellent knowledge of sonography equipment and hands on lab practice. Teaching load based on student enrollment and staffing needs. Special Assignments
May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.
KSA's / Required Qualifications
- Active RDMS credentials from the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography in specialty area of both abdomen and Ob / Gyn.
- Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in the teaching field with demonstrated competencies.
- Minimum of 2 years full time related occupational experience as a sonographer.
- Knowledge of computers and online instructional technologies (Canvas).
- Excellent oral / written communication skills.
- Skilled in teaching lecture, online, and / or hands on laboratory courses.

- Multiple professional registry credentials RVT and RDCS
- Prior teaching experience
Operation of a State Vehicle No Supervises Employees No Required Travel To and from any college campus / site location as assigned.
