About The Position

Job Title : Pediatric OR Tech Surgical Tech

Profession : Surgical Services

Hours per Shift : 8 Hours

Experience :

Minimum two years of pediatric scrub experience or equivalent relevant experience required.

Strong skills in Eyes, Urology, Neuro, and Ortho preferred.

License :

BLS certification required.

Certifications :

American Heart Association certification only.

Must-Have :

Successfully completed a surgical technologist program or two years of experience in a Surgical Technologist role may be considered in lieu of completion of the program.

Description :

The Surgical Technologist prepares the Operating Room prior to surgery.

They promote the safety of the patient during surgery.

The role involves providing assistance to the surgeon during surgery.

They care for the patient during surgery and manage instruments and supplies used in surgery.

The Surgical Technologist functions to promote patient safety as a member of the surgical team.

The incumbent possesses knowledge and skills required to assist in effectively caring for patients of all age groups including neonates, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics.

On-call responsibilities include weeknight, weekend, and holiday coverage.

Travelers may be scheduled in multiple units based on staffing needs.

The high acuity environment requires extensive experience in pediatric cases.
