Position Relationship :
Responsible to : Manager
Workers Supervised : None
Interrelationships : Works closely with patients, their families, physicians, employers, and co-workers.
Responsibilities :
- Exhibit quality customer service.
- Responsible for collecting and updating patient information at each visit.
- Verify insurance coverage for every patient.
- Make sure all consent forms and policies are signed.
- Review patient account balances when patients check in and have billing discuss past due balances before being seen by a Provider.
- Monitor Tracking Report throughout the day.
- Answers telephone calls with a proper greeting.
- Manage incoming calls on a multi-phone line system.
- Schedule appointments based on patient needs and provider preferences.
- Ensure well-check appointments are scheduled within the proper time frame necessary for the vaccine schedule and ensure receipt of payment from insurance.
- Responsible for entering all New Patient Packets into the system the same day, no later than the next morning.
- Prepare all forms for the scheduled visits the day before the appointment.
- Assist parents with accessing the patient portal.
- Respond to public inquiries courteously and efficiently.
- Obtain and forward pertinent information promptly to the appropriate staff and requester.
- Scan all pertinent data and insurance cards to the clinical chart.
- Consistently demonstrate a positive and professional public image.
- Will be supportive of the decisions made by Management and Partners.
- Demonstrate positive interactions and a high level of mental and emotional tolerance when dealing with patients, families of patients, and staff.
- Use tact, sensitivity, sound judgment, and professionalism when relating with co-workers, physicians, patients, families, and other agencies.
- Maintain working knowledge of insurance billing and guidelines.
- Respect the rights, property, and privacy of others.
- Work shifts assigned by Management may vary depending on staffing and Weekend Clinic.
Qualifications
- Education :
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Training and Experience :
- Aptitude to organize, file and perform clerical work with speed and accuracy.
- Basic math knowledge.
- Typing and basic computer skills are necessary, good telephone etiquette.
- Being bilingual is a plus but not required.
- Minimum experience as a receptionist : 1 year
Physical Demands and working conditions
- Must be able to work under stressful conditions.
- May have varied work hours, including weekends / holidays.
- Must be able to perform / withstand :
- Sustained sitting and walking.

$16.00 to $18.00 / hour DOE

12-6 pm Monday - Friday and rotating Saturdays.
