What You Will Do to Change Lives

Family Peer Support Specialist engage, inspire, and encourage participants and their families, families of choice, and natural supports to actively support the participants’ recovery plan.

Family Peer Support Specialist provide information, education, and resources to supporters so they can be better prepared to bring out the best in their loved one, whether it be while the person is living independently or in the family home.

Family Peer Support Specialist are part of an integrated service team who promote and reinforce Telecare’s Recovery Culture as defined by the Telecare Recovery Centered Clinical System (RCCS) in which each participant and their supporters’ points of view and preferences are recognized, understood, respected, and integrated into services and self-help programming.

Additionally, Family Peer Support Specialist respond to critical situations with high-level engagement and de-escalation skills which support a least restrictive environment for participants experiencing an emergency related to a behavioral health challenge.

Shifts Available :

Full Time; DAYS : am - : pm; Monday - Friday (Sign On Bonus : $,)

Expected starting wage range is $ - $ Telecare applies geographic differentials to its pay ranges. The pay range assigned to this role will be based on the geographic location from which the role is performed.

Starting pay is commensurate with relevant experience above the minimum requirements.

What You Bring to the Table (Must Have)

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Successful completion of Family Peer Support Training or completed within one year of hire
• Demonstrated lived experience as a parent or primary caregiver of a person with behavioral health care needs.
• Valid and current driver’s license, and personal vehicle insurance with your name listed as a driver.
• Willingness to use your personal vehicle to drive clients to appointments and groups, etc.
• Willingness to use the company vehicle to drive clients to appointments and groups, etc.

Telecare's mission is to deliver excellent and effective behavioral health services that engage individuals in recovering their health, hopes, and dreams.

Telecare continues to advance cultural diversity, humility, equity, and inclusion at all levels of our organization by hiring mental health peers, BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, veterans, and all belief systems.

Telecare TAY ROC provides case management services to adults, aged to , who utilize emergency rooms, inpatient settings, and crisis services to regularly manage their mental health and substance use needs.

Through a "whatever it takes" outreach and engagement approach, these programs help reduce the need for inpatient and emergency room care while improving mental health outcomes for the members served by connecting members to supports and resources available within their community.

These programs work specifically with Alameda County residents who are not yet connected to county healthcare services. Program staff will provide linkages, supports, and resources to help community members remain in the least-restrictive, most self-sufficient, and recovery-oriented settings possible.

The goals of these programs include reducing inpatient and emergency room care and improving mental health outcomes in Alameda County.
