Department Overview
The Embedded Software Engineering Team at Motorola Solutions (MSI) delivers firmware for embedded devices such as in-car video systems and body worn cameras.
Working in close collaboration with other departments, engineers in this team excel at developing applications and drivers under Linux, and have a variety of backgrounds and specializations.
The team uses modern C++ to develop highly reusable code, and utilize state-of-the-art systems and tools throughout the development life cycle.

Job Description
Motorola Solutions, Inc. is looking for an exceptional Embedded Senior Software Engineer with a passion for innovation, technology, and quality.
Embedded engineers develop firmware on our newest line of products, working with cutting-edge technology to provide law enforcement with the tools they need in order to serve and protect our communities.
Responsibilities
- Embedded software development of applications in modern C++11 / 14 / 17 / 20.
- Develop code, author and refine stories, and execute tests in an Agile embedded development environment.
- Define software APIs and implementation details.
- Collaborate with team members using Atlassian and G-suite tools.
- Understand and contribute to code and scripts needed for test automation.
- Utilize a multi-stage continuous integration build process to produce embedded software loads.
Qualifications
- Strong understanding of the object-oriented programming paradigm.
- Must have experience in software development for embedded Linux devices / appliances.
- Must have the ability to understand, develop, and test modern C++. Experience with C++20 is preferred.
- Must have a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering.
- At least 4+ years of related experience.
