Job Description

About Biopharmaceutical business division within Fapon ecosystem

We are an innovative biopharmaceutical company specializing in the early-stage research and development of biologic drugs, particularly large molecule therapeutics.

Our current projects are on the cusp of entering clinical trials, and we are seeking a highly experienced Director of Business Development,& Strategic Partnerships based in the USA, to drive the out-licensing of these projects.

This role will also encompass fundraising efforts to secure the financial resources necessary to support our ongoing R&D and operations.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the biopharmaceutical industry, particularly in establishing partnerships with large pharmaceutical companies, multinational corporations (MNCs), and medium-sized biopharma companies in the US, Europe, and China.

Key Responsibilities

Business Development :

Lead BD activities in the US, Europe, and China, with a focus on out-licensing our biologic drug projects that are entering clinical trials.

Identify and establish strategic partnerships with large pharmaceutical companies, MNCs, and medium-sized biopharma companies to secure licensing agreements.

Develop and execute BD strategies that align with the company’s objectives to generate cash flow through project licensing, supporting other R&D and operational activities.

Collaborate closely with internal teams, including research, clinical, and regulatory affairs, to ensure successful project licensing and alignment with company goals.

Fundraising :

Lead fundraising efforts by targeting investment funds of multinational corporations (MNCs) and overseas venture capital (VC) funds, particularly those with a focus on life sciences and biopharma.

Develop and present compelling investment proposals and pitches to potential investors.

Establish and maintain relationships with key investors, ensuring ongoing communication and alignment with the company’s strategic goals.

Work with the finance and executive teams to structure deals and negotiate terms with potential investors.

Market Intelligence :

Monitor and analyze market trends in the biopharmaceutical industry, particularly in biologic drugs and large molecule therapeutics.

Provide strategic insights and recommendations to the executive team based on market analysis and competitive intelligence.

Qualifications

Key Qualifications and Skills

Bachelor’s degree in life sciences, biotechnology, business administration, or a related field. Advanced degree (MBA, PhD) is preferred.

5+ years of experience in business development within the biopharmaceutical industry, with a focus on biologic drugs and large molecule therapeutics.

R&D experience in drug development is preferred.

Proven track record in securing licensing agreements and driving projects through early-stage development to clinical trials.

Experience in fundraising, particularly with MNC investment funds and venture capital.

Strong understanding of the regulatory landscape in the US, Europe, and China.

Excellent communication and presentation skills, with fluency in both English and Mandarin (preferred).

Ability to work independently and as part of a global team.

Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills.

Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as needed.

Preferred Attributes

Experience working in a cross-cultural environment, particularly between the US and China.

Familiarity with the latest trends in biologic drug development and licensing, including biologic drugs, large molecule therapeutics, and clinical trial transitions.

Proven ability to manage complex projects and navigate challenges in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
