Building Automation Systems Specialists provide engineering support for the installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting of building automation systems;
contribute to the preparation of technical training and documentation; and deliver tier 2 technical support for internal and external users of the platform.
As a Building Automation System Specialist, you will :
- Start up and commission of Building Automation Systems
- Configuration and programing of Building Automation Controllers
- Act as a technical resource to customers and other Siemens employees
- Provide training on the use of Site Controls energy management solutions and products
- Conduct engineering surveys and pre-construction meetings
- Prepare and update technical documentation
- Troubleshoot issues, including identifying bugs in control software and diagnosing controls, electrical, and mechanical systems
You will make an impact with these qualifications :
Basic Qualifications :
- High school diploma or state-recognized GED required
- Minimum of five years of experience installing, troubleshooting, or commissioning building automation controllers or mechanical systems
- Exposure to control software development or control software maintenance
- Experience in servicing building automation systems
- Able to read and interpret control diagrams as well as mechanical and electrical drawings
- Good verbal and written communication skills in English
- Willing to travel up to 75% of the time in the United States and Canada. Must possess a valid driver's license with limited violations .
- Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship
Preferred Qualifications :
- Proven electro-mechanical aptitude based on previous experience and / or education, and proficient in PC / software skills, including Microsoft Office
- Ability to work in various environments around mechanical equipment, including climbing ladders, scaffolds, and high-lift equipment
- Ability to use hand tools and move equipment and tools weighing up to 50 pounds unassisted
- Experience configuring and programming Siemens Apogee and Desigo building automation controllers
- Knowledge of Siemens Powers Programming Control Language (PPCL).
- Experience using Siemens ABT Site software
- Knowledge of engineering fundamentals, HVAC, mechanical, and electrical systems
- Proficiency in AutoCAD
- Associate degree in electronics, mechanical, or related field
