Responsibilities include but are not limited to :
- Lead the development and optimization of PAT strategies, ensuring system pointing accuracy and stability for in-space motion control systems.
- Own system-level specifications and performance budgets, including pointing error budgets for free-space optical and advanced RF communication systems.
- Aide in the definition of hardware components used for optical beam steering, including actuators and position sensors.
- Implement and test sophisticated control algorithms for electro-mechanical systems in real-time applications.
- Perform component and subsystem-level performance validation tests under relevant environmental operating conditions.
- Ensure system-level line of sight pointing performance meets challenging requirements for residual jitter and accuracy.
- Champion the use of state-of-the-art tools for modeling, simulation, and automatic code generation to expedite development cycles.
- Guide the technical team in the integration, validation, and troubleshooting of precision beam pointing systems on optical test sets and during in-space operations.
