Senior Product Planning Specialist

The Senior Product Planning Specialist is responsible for the management and coordination of projects throughout the lifetime of our investment products. This includes planning new launches, launching a variety of investment vehicles, changes to existing investment vehicles, and liquidation of unsuccessful products. The successful candidate will manage these processes from initial planning to delivery, inclusive of cross-team and cross-organizational activities and results.

You will help plan these actions in conjunction with Global Product leadership and Product Management, then you are the primary liaison for the project roadmap and have accountability for successful execution. You will collaborate across all areas of the firm, helping to identify impacts and risks associated with the projects. Once in progress you will have responsibility for communicating status to all relevant stakeholders and for driving efficient decision-making on potential issues that may arise.

This hybrid position will be based out of our Kansas City, MO office.

How You Will Make an Impact

  • Lead all phases of the product lifecycle, including, but not limited to project plan creation, kickoffs, and internal status meetings, handling timeline, communication with key stakeholders, achievements, and deliverables
  • Work with key stakeholders to identify risks, plan for risk response, and mitigation and proactively monitor project risks and resolutions
  • Strategic partner for product leadership team members to evaluate resource constraints, prioritize workflows, broker decisions, and identify trade-offs in conjunction with operational infrastructure
  • Support scrum of scrum and PI planning sessions by clearly representing product initiatives
  • Assist and communicate effectively with all levels of leadership in decision-making, program management, and initiative implementation
  • Assess all impacted stakeholders across the firm, and ensure effective inputs and communication to them as part of processes
  • Collaborating with product, investments, operations, and distribution team members to ensure business requirements are effectively built and shared with appropriate teams for execution
  • Demonstrate understanding of, contribute to, and communicate the product's vision to support teamsunderstanding both internal and external rationales for the product action

What You Bring to the Team (Required)

  • Strong knowledge of various investment management product structures
  • Experience with equity, fixed income, and multi-asset investment approaches
  • Bachelor's degree or relevant equivalent work experience
  • 7+ years of asset management experience, preferable centered on detailed knowledge of operational infrastructure
  • Experience managing and leading delivery of large-scale projects, effectively prioritizing and planning across multiple initiatives
  • Your experience in effectively communicating program status, risks, scope, etc. to clients
  • Experience facilitating meetings to secure decisions and identify next steps
  • Effective communicator (written and verbal)
  • Validated time management, organizational, and leadership skills
  • Desire to drive collaboration across teams
  • Ability to build relationships with leadership, resources, and partners through essential aspects such as influencing, communication, facilitation, and trust
  • Prior experience with project management software

  • Additional Assets (Preferred)

  • Experience with financial management is preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including MS PowerPoint, MS Project, and MS Visio
