We have an exciting opportunity for a full-time Grant Writer to join our Foundation department. Under the direction of the Foundation Director, the Grant Writer will identify funding opportunities and write proposals, prepare supporting documentation and reports to meet grant guidelines and oversee the composition of the grant application.
They will identify funding from federal, state and private (foundation, corporate, etc.) partners and foster organizational relationships with these partners for future funding opportunities.
Demonstrates an understanding of, and embraces, the mission statement of the Christian Health.
Responsibilities / Competencies :
- Identifies resources both internal to the organization and external, to support the grant proposal development process.
- Resourceful in gaining knowledge and understanding of the services, programs and communities of Christian Health.
- Researches and assesses grant opportunities and provides recommendations that align with Christian Health’s vision, mission, scope, and strategic priorities.
- Proven ability to identify and secure funding opportunities and prepare grant proposals relating to requests for funding proposals (RFPs) from federal, state, foundation, and local entities.
- Performs independent background research pertaining to the grant proposal including regional, state and national evidence-based practices, strategies, and programming models of care.
- Collaborates with internal key stakeholders to obtain information necessary for development of proposals, including information required to address specific grant criteria.
- Understands data sources both internally available to Christian Health as well as regionally, statewide and nationally.
Gathers and utilizes data to identify and support community needs.
- Coordinates the proposal writing process from inception to submission as well as required interim progress reports.
- Interprets program outcome data and incorporate into proposal responses and other publications.
- Responsible for producing timely, accurate, and highly detailed proposal submissions.
- Develops and manages the grant schedule and application tracking with associated proposal and reporting timelines, including revenue projections.
- Supports Christian Health Foundation with special events as needed. The grant writer must be available to assist on the day / evening of special events.
- Assists with other special projects as determined by the Foundation Director.
Education : Bachelor’s degree in related field. Master’s degree preferred.

QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS
Demonstrates compliance with the CH ASPIRE Standards of Performance.
Qualifications :
- Minimum of 2 years of grant writing experience with federal, state, and foundation / private grant proposals and applications.
- Proficient in Adobe Acrobat and familiarity with electronic grants submission systems such as Grants.gov and other grant management platforms.
- Database management a must and ability to learn new software required.
- Motivated self-starter with the ability to work independently with accuracy.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and must have ability to express ideas clearly, effectively and persuasively.
- Demonstrated ability to achieve fundraising goals.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office.
