Accountabilities and Responsibilities

- Gathers and analyzes data (including financial data, corporate biography, history, mission, market position, industry trends, employee benefits relating to financial matters, etc.
from a wide range of contacts and sources on potential business partners in Nassau County . Determines if a group is already served by another credit union.
Determines, with the Digital Marketing Manager, Assistant Vice President of Marketing and the President and CEO, those potential Business Partners that should be pursued for sponsorship of our credit union.
From the list developed of desirable Business Partner / candidates, actively recruits potential Business Partners as new sponsors of this credit union.
Communicates on a regular basis with Business Partner candidates through written communication, telephone contact, and onsite visits / presentations (travel to business partner location or meet at the credit union, if they prefer).
Develops a plan for presentation and sales of credit union features and benefits to the employer, as well as product and services available to their employees.
Tracks on an on-going basis Business Partnerrecruitment activity and status.
At the appropriate time, provides potential Business Partners with our enrollment package. Prepares materials necessary for Nassau Financial’s approval of Business Partner.
Provides timely ongoing communication to business partner candidate relative to the status of their application.
- Develops and administers the Business Partner Program. Creates, updates and maintains program materials. Develops and administers an incentive program for Business Partners, in recognition of their personal support of the credit union and recruitment efforts.
- Develops and maintains productive, friendly relationship with existing Business Partners to promote credit union presence in their facility.
Maintains effective ongoing communication channels between onsite visits. Ensures Business Partnerrepresentatives are educated in our products and services, through meetings and correspondence.
Informs Business Partners on member enrollment procedures, credit union department contact names, new service introductions, marketing campaigns and promotions.
Periodically throughout the year, ensures inventory of appropriate forms maintained by Business Partners are current and at adequate levels.
Ensures posters promoting the credit union and take-one brochures are displayed in a timely manner.
- Develops a calendar to make onsite visits to Business Partners on a mutually agreeable basis, at least annually. Travels within assigned territory to call on current Business Partners to maintain our corporate relationships, conduct open-house meetings to solicit new member accounts, educate and cross-sell the audience on credit union products and services, benefits and features.
- Implements and executes the credit union business development program to achieve credit union goals.
- Must show proof of a clean driving record and valid New York driver license at employment and any time going forward. Must maintain automobile liability insurance in the amount of $30,000-$50,000 and $10,000 property damage insurance and be able to present current proof of such insurance upon employment and at any time.
Must have regular access to reliable personal automobile to travel as needed throughout the assigned territory.
Professional appearance and demeanor is required at all times as this position is representative of the credit union to high level management and others in current and potential Business Partners.
Must display a positive attitude, friendly polite personality and professional appearance whenever meeting or interacting with external parties.
Must be able to express oneself creatively, clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing, to effectively communicate credit union benefits to management and employees of current and potential Business Partners.
Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills are required. Must also be able to effectively communicate with credit union management and staff.
- Must be able to work independently without direct supervision and effectively handle multiple, sometimes conflicting, deadlines.
- Must be able to lift and transport supplies, presentation materials and other equipment to various meetings, onsite visits, shows, etc.
- BSA / AML compliance (and compliance with the Office of Foreign Assets Control) is the responsibility of all employees throughout the organization.
This is achieved through : annual training, reporting compliance issues to the attention of the Compliance Officer and keeping aware of regulatory requirements
Other Duties :
- Identifies and participates in community events that will benefit the credit union. Organizes all preparations and works credit union display booth at designated trade shows and community events, including setup and dismantling of show booth.
- Serves as Credit Union liaison with such groups as the Chamber of Commerce and other community and charitable organizations in the area of our offices.
Represents the credit union at speaking engagements before civic and other groups. Coordinate employee volunteer programs.
- Performs periodic review and maintenance of member sponsor data on our data processing system. Acquires necessary employee data, as permissible from Business Partner, and massages that data with our data processing system data to determine necessary sponsor code changes and ascertain credit union penetration and utilization rates per Business Partner.
- Reports monthly on business partner recruitment efforts and status. Reports quarterly on the membership penetration and product utilization per Business Partner.
- Completes a monthly travel expense / mileage reimbursement report.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Credentials, Experience and Skills
Job requires an Associate’s Degree in a business related field. Three years financial institution experience in sales / marketing, business development or related field with similar responsibilities required.
Specialized training in marketing, advertising and promotion, or business development is highly desired.
- Computer Skills : PC literacy is required, with proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, presentation, Internet browser, and database management software.
