Real World Responsibilities :

  • This position will be responsible for a specific project that is assigned in the areas of commodity management, supplier quality, or supply chain analytics
  • The candidate is likely to participate in an RFQ process, supplier evaluation process, a selections process, negotiation process, as well as working supplier issues and supplier maintenance
  • Comply with purchasing policies / procedures, as well as legal / ethical obligations
  • Assist in documenting and creating processes and standard work in the supply chain / sourcing functions.
  • Support commodity manager(s) in their daily work
  • Assist in negotiation preparation
  • Identify and implement cost savings opportunities through spend analysis, supplier negotiations, business resourcing, value added and value engineering opportunities, and other purchasing methods
  • Support manufacturing operations and quality department with supplier issue resolution
  • Administrate Blanket Orders, Purchase Orders and Vendor Master Information in the ERP system
  • Ability to analyze complex data, identify and execute savings opportunities, implement sourcing strategies, and quickly execute tasks to realize benefits.

  • Must Haves :

  • Pursuing a degree in Purchasing, Supply Chain Management, Business, Materials, Technical or related field
  • Verbal and written skills - ability to communicate to all levels of management required.
  • Ability to organize and complete multiple tasks / projects at one time
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Nice to Have :

  • MS Excel and PowerPoint experience, experience with Oracle and access or other SQL application is a plus.
  • Complete an agreed upon project (related to Supply Chain), culminating in a formal report out to sr. leadership
  • Ability to multi-task multiple categories & projects. Ability to coordinate strategies / activities across multiple business functions.
  • Financial & quantitative analysis experience a plus. Problem solving skills are essential.
