Software Development Engineer II Introduction to the team : Expedia Technology teams partner with our Product teams to create innovative products, services, and tools to deliver high-quality experiences for travelers, partners, and our employees. As a Software Development Engineer II, you’ll join the Offers experience team within the Expedia Product & Technology division at Expedia Group. Our team focuses on enhancing the traveler shopping journey through price-driven insights and display optimizations across our web and native platforms. Using experimentation, data-driven design, and performance improvements, you will play a key role in delivering accurate, timely, and compelling pricing features that support a seamless and trusted booking experience for millions of travelers. In this role, you will : Design and implement reliable, high-performant features to improve the shopping experience Implement holistic solutions to bring a consistent experience between platforms Conduct thorough code reviews to maintain standards of code quality and scalability Advocate for engineering excellence, exceptional usability, and outstanding quality Write automated tests and work across data sources to integrate them into a scalable tech stack Minimum Qualifications : Bachelor's or Master's degree in a Technical field; or equivalent related professional experience 2 years experience in software development or similar role Strong technical proficiency in Javascript , Typescript or React Knowledge of design systems and component libraries for scalable UI development Excel in effective verbal and written communication, capable of presenting complex technical concepts clearly to diverse partners and peers Preferred Qualifications : Experience with Kotlin Hands-on experience with modern API frameworks, specifically GraphQL . Including schema design, API development, and client-side querying Passionate about learning, especially in the areas of technology, service design patterns and system architecture The total cash range for this position in San Jose is $122,500.00 to $171,500.00. Employees in this role have the potential to increase their pay up to $196,000.00, which is the top of the range, based on ongoing, demonstrated, and sustained performance in the role. Starting pay for this role will vary based on multiple factors, including location, available budget, and an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience. Pay ranges may be modified in the future.
