Senior Staff Accountant
Taft is currently seeking a Senior Staff Accountant to join our Accounting team in Cincinnati.
The Position
We are seeking a Senior Staff Accountant to support the Accounting team in the Cincinnati office. All Taft employees operate under a "Client First" philosophy-in all things, we seek to provide exceptional services to our clients.
Essential Duties :
- Prepares accounting records and other financial reports, to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to standards defined within the department.
- Maintains the general ledger and performs the firm's month end balance sheet reconciliation process; including input of entries and research and correction of account discrepancies.
- Assists with preparation and tracking of all tax liabilities for the firm.
- Analyzes and reconciles bank statements.
- Creates and maintains internal control processes for accounting functions.
- Documents and ensures proper keeping of financial records making use of current technologies.
- Responsible for special projects, ad hoc financial analysis and other departmental duties as assigned.
- Evaluates current processes for improvement / efficiency and makes recommendations accordingly.
Requirements :
- General knowledge of accounting and Microsoft Office products.
- Basic math skills to analyze figures.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong multi-tasking prioritizing and organizational skills.
- Bachelor's degree (B.A.) or three to four years of related experience and / or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Public accounting experience preferred.
- CPA preferred.
