Job Summary :
SBM is seeking a driven Senior Logistics Specialist that will work directly with third party logistics providers managing the order processing and flow through this facility.
The Senior Logistics Specialist will be responsible for all inbound and outbound movements of that facility, the accuracy of the site’s fulfillment and overall processing metrics.
The Senior Logistics Specialist will also be responsible for the accuracy of all inventories of that site and for the weekly cycle count program.
The accountability of the site through monthly business reviews and metrics analysis will fall to this role to perform. This position involves working independently and making crucial decisions regarding inventory and Freight for SBM Life Science.
This role will require full responsibility for LTL, Full Truck, and overseeing distribution from the Mt. Juliet, TN warehouse location.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities :
- Manage inbound / outbound loads for orders and shipments.
- Selecting carriers for LTL, negotiating rates and monitoring carrier performance for that site.
- Update documentation for your assigned customer accounts in accordance with their routing and shipping guidelines
- Investigate and process deductions and dispute them in the appropriate manner and on time.
- Process purchase orders and inter-site company transfers as required.
- Process work orders and customer returns
- Track orders and shipments
- Investigate problems with orders or shipments to ensure prompt resolutions.
- Maintain inventory accuracy through cycle counts, ad hoc counts, and inbound receipt audits.
- Perform Inventory adjustments as necessary at your location(s)
- Correct receipts as necessary at your location(s)
- Maintain order accuracy and shipment deliveries at your location(s)
- Maintain lot accuracy at your location(s)
- Maintain Unit of Measure Accuracy at your location(s)
- Collaborate and work with third party tollers and the warehouse to ensure accurate shipments.
- Coordinate with customer service team to promote accurate and timely processing of orders for customers.
- Coordinate with planning team on inventory balancing.
- Perform other duties as requested.
Qualifications : Education :
Education :
Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, logistics, or related field
Work Experience :
- 5+ years of experience working in Logistics or related industry
- Project management experience in the industry (preferred)
- Previous experience with Freight Shipment Execution
- Inventory, Shipping, and Receiving experience
Required Skills / Abilities :
- Possess excellent written, verbal, communication, and interpersonal skills with an internal and external customer service focus.
- Attention to Detail and Organization skills.
- Ability to identify cost-saving measures and improvement strategies.
- Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
- Ability to follow instructions and take directions.
- Solid ability to do basic math.
