Joining our Pharmacy Department, you'll work as part of a respected and essential care delivery team alongside Pharmacists, Physicians, and Nurses.

Our Pharmacy Department facilities are as contemporary and progressive as our practice of Pharmacy. We have automated systems for drug distribution, robotics and more with plans to expand further.

We pride ourselves in creating satisfying opportunities for Pharmacy Technicians to be involved in advanced and evolving programs like Bar Code technologies, Automated Dispensing Machine maintenance and improvement, Sterile IV Compounding, and Inventory Management.

Under the direction and supervision of Director, Pharmacy Services and under the clinical supervision of the Pharmacist on duty, is responsible for a variety of duties to support the pharmacy, including :

  • daily activity of distribution refilling / restock and compounding of solutions;
  • utilizing established policies and procedures to maintain and distribute pharmaceuticals to patient care units, special services and other areas throughout the Hospital;

preparing products dispensed by the Sterile Prep Room, such as large and small volume parenterals, chemotherapeutic preparations, parenteral nutrition solutions, irrigations, skin tests, etc.

Minimum Qualifications

Education

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Completion of a pharmacy technician course preferred.

Experience

Previous experience as a Hospital Pharmacy Technician preferred.

Licensure and / or Certification

Current registration as a Pharmacy Technician in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts required.

National certification as a Pharmacy Technician (PTCB or ICPT) required.

Skills

Computer skills required. Meditech and Omnicell preferred.

Strong customer service skills.

Must be able to read, write and communicate in English.

Ability to handle medications with a high potential for abuse.

Ability to maintain confidential information.

Strong attention to accuracy and detail.

Must be able to perform math calculations.

Other

Must be 18 years or older.
