We are hiring a Development Director who will work with schools and school districts in Fort Worth, Arlington, Waxahachie, Mansfield, Midlothian and surrounding areas.

This position plans, organizes, monitors, and evaluates Youth Market programs throughout the assigned territory. The ideal candidate must live in Fort Worth / Arlington / Waxahachie / Mansfield area.

This position works fully remotely. This position will require daily travel within the assigned territory and may include occasional overnight travel for meetings, conferences, etc.

We offer a base salary with the potential to earn an incentive up to 25% of your base pay. The potential incentive is based on achieving certain revenue targets.

Responsibilities

In this role, you will be responsible to :

  • Implement the American Heart Association's Kids Heart Challenge / American Heart Challenge programs with school-based coordinators (typically PE teachers, student groups, school principals, and superintendents) to raise funds through our educational fundraising programs elementary through high school.
  • Sell our lifesaving mission to local schools through prospecting and securing school participation while providing tools and training to help schools establish and meet their fundraising goals, recruiting and managing strong relationships with volunteers, while ensuring overall success of the programs.
  • Present program information at school assembly events, virtually or in-person, to school-aged kids to teach about the American Heart Association and the program.
  • Achieve income and school recruitment goals through the management of existing customers and school accounts, and prospecting and cultivating new school accounts.
  • Coordinate, plan, and implement activities and resources necessary to achieve campaign goals and fundraising objectives in the assigned territory.
  • Maintain and track all related fundraising data.
  • Recruit volunteers to develop and manage school-wide events, while building new relationships and providing ongoing support to volunteers in each school.
  • Partner with school district employees to support wellness programs and fundraise for the American Heart Association and work with other staff for implementation.
  • Develop effective customer relationships, through time management, persuasion, organization, competitiveness, and persistence.
  • Provide exceptional customer service and volunteer management.
  • Ensure adherence to all national and regional School Engagement policies, guidelines, and procedures.
  • Travel throughout assigned geographical territory as well as engage in virtual visits with early morning start times.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree preferred.
  • 3 years of experience in outside sales or in a non-profit organization in a similar capacity.
  • Proven leadership and management skills, demonstrated by the ability to organize, plan, implement, and evaluate.
  • Demonstrated community organizational skills with the ability to recruit, train and manage volunteers effectively.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the willingness to work with all social strata, occupations, and a diverse group of backgrounds.
  • Presentation skills for small and large groups.
  • Ability to work as part of an integrated team.
  • Intermediate knowledge and skill with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Ability to lift at least 20 lbs. from the ground to waist level.
  • Demonstrated oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to travel within assigned territory daily which requires access to reliable transportation at all times on an immediate basis.

Work-Life Harmonization The Association offers Paid Time Off (PTO) at a minimum of 16 days per year for new employees. The number of days will increase based on seniority level.
