Position Summary Delivery Drivers are responsible for driving, cleaning, and maintaining trucks. Responsible for making local deliveries and / or delivering locally on their own.

Maintain contact (radio or telephone) with the Warehouse Delivery Center to receive delivery and / or pickup instructions, and other general warehouse duties as assigned.

Warehouse organization, shipping and receiving is minimal. Must be handy with tools and mechanically inclined. Essential Duties and Responsibilities The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following : Driving truck per daily designated routes Cleaning and maintaining the trucks, including taking the truck to designated area for clean out, and fuel for the next day Performing minor repairs to the truck (e.

g., tightening loose bolts / fittings, inspecting all moving parts) Monitoring the need for major repairs, including engine tune-up, oil change, filter change, and tire replacements Picking up and delivering at set locations daily Loading, unloading, and operating a 17' Box Truck and / or Vans Maintaining safe operation and clean appearance (company provided uniforms) by complying with company operational policies, procedures, and standards Operating and maintaining vehicle in safe and clean condition Receiving materials from warehouse and delivering to proper location Interfacing with Warehouse / School personnel to ensure timely deliveries, including pulling orders, receiving and putting away product Assist with inventory control Performing other duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities) High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred;

and one to three years related experience and / or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience Have and maintain current and valid Driver's License Ability to safely drive vehicles Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with employees, supervisors, and the general public Ability to communicate effectively Ability to work independently Ability to perform heavy manual tasks under varying weather conditions Ability to make independent judgments which have moderate impacts on the organization Ability to write routine reports and correspondence Physical Demands and Work Environment The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.

The employee is rarely required to climb, balance, crawl, reach, grasp, or feel. The employee must be able to regularly perform light lifting and / or move up to 5 - 75 pounds.

Anything over 50 pounds requires a team lift. Moderate eye / hand / foot coordinate is required. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to temperature changes and workplace hazards.

Background Checks

Background Check Record Restriction

  • The Company reserves the right to utilize and consider records regarding the following charges under Georgia law, which may not be sealed : sex crimes against children / by people with supervisory authority;
  • pimping and pandering; crimes against minors; sexual battery; peeping tom crimes; family violence battery convictions (unless committed under the age of 21);
  • child molestation; public indecency; obstructing or hindering persons making emergency telephone call; certain theft or DUI charges;
  • murder; armed robbery; kidnapping; rape; child molestation and aggravated child molestation; sodomy and aggravated sodomy;
  • aggravated sexual battery; aggravated assault with the intent to rape; false imprisonment; enticing a child for indecent purposes;

sexual assault against persons in custody; incest; and / or sexual exploitation of children.

Drug screening

The Company may conduct a drug screening on any applicant or employee with their signed consent. The drug screening may consist of third-party services and may be 5, 9 or 10 panel screening depending upon job.

All offers of employment and continued employment are contingent upon a satisfactory drug screening. Refusal to consent to a drug screening may result in discipline, up to or including termination.

The Company will also conduct probable cause drug screenings and refusal to consent to a drug screening will result in termination, as the company will presume any employee refusal is resignation from the company.
