What You’ll Do

The Director of Business Development will be responsible for developing and maintaining new business clients in Ascent’s focused Mobility Vertical.

This individual’s focus is to create strategic relationships with key Customers within the Mobility markets to strengthen Ascent’s position in time-critical and premium logistics solutions.

New Business Development :

  • Builds and maintains relationships with logistic contracts through regular, in-person professional communications and travel, developing multiple contacts within the account hierarchy.
  • Cultivate and nurture relationships with mid-tier and top-tier customers to understand their needs and identify opportunities for upselling and cross-selling.
  • Identifying, pursuing, and securing new business contracts with a target value exceeding $25 million.
  • In-depth knowledge of the mobility sector or of similar fast-paced and dynamic industries.
  • Identify and create opportunities for Ascent’s time-critical and premium transportation solutions.
  • Deliver compelling solutions for prospective Customers that create sustainable value.
  • Build strategic relationships with key personnel on various levels of the Customer organization.
  • Provide regular market updates and intelligence to the Customer.
  • Act as trusted advisor to the Customer and offer support for all transportation and supply chain related matters.
  • Travel Responsibility- 25-50%

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or 5 years related experience and / or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Expertise and proven track record in Ascent’s Mobility market.
  • Language Skills - Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.

Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.

Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Mathematical Skills - Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.

Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Reasoning Ability - Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Knowledgeable in use of computer software including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Must be proficient in the adoption and use of Ascent’s Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tool.

Salary Range : $90,000 - $150,000
