The Production Assistant is responsible for assisting the Juicing Department Manager in pressing and bottling fresh vegetable and fruit juices and assisting in food preparation and production in the Value-Added Kitchen.
This role's main functions are to efficiently prepare bottled drink items, prepare or prep grab and go menu items, package grab and go menu items, package cut fruit, and package bulk food items for retail sales while focusing on quality and consistency while adhering to food safety guidelines.
This position reports directly to the Juicing Department Manager and the Value-Added leadership team. This is a part-time position, not to exceed 30 hours each week.
Requirements
- Must obtain a Food Safety Certification within 90 days of hire.
- 1 + years' experience in a food service environment.
- Experience in retail customer service and food service departments.
- The ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Be able to work indoors in a climate-controlled environment, i.e., walk-in cooler, and / or freezer.
- This position will be required to use, clean, and maintain heavy-duty juicing machinery while adhering to all safety guidelines.
- Be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time, to sit, squat, or kneel occasionally, and to climb rarely
- Ability to work a flexible work schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Responsibilities
- Adhere to food safety guidelines based on state and local health codes.
- Ensure proper storage and labeling standards.
- Maintain accurate and retrievable records of waste.
- Proficiency in knife skills.
- Must follow standardized recipes as written to ensure quality and consistency.
- Ensure all food prep and food storage areas, including equipment, are maintained.
- Describe items within the Food Service Department to customers and assist customers by making recommendations.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, utilizing a "clean as you go" attitude.
- Must be able to provide the highest level of customer service to our customers, going above and beyond to take care of their needs.
