About The Position
Job Title : Medical Laboratory Technician Job Specialty : Medical Laboratory Technician Job Duration : Permanent, Full-Time Shift : Once trained, graveyard shift with a consistent schedule of 7 days on / 7 days off Guaranteed Hours : Not specified Experience : Preferably with microbiology reading experience License : Not specified Certifications : Current ASCP certification Must-Have : Ability to independently read microbiology results- Venous and arterial blood collection skills- Experience with microbiology, hematology, chemistry, blood banking, coagulation, urinalysis, serology, and blood gases- High levels of self-motivation and management Job Description : Provide accurate and timely test results to support patient care decisions.
- Perform as a strong generalist in laboratory tasks and be adaptable to learn new skills.- Capable phlebotomist, willing to assist with blood collection when needed.
- Respond quickly and accurately in diverse situational demands.- Collaborate effectively within the laboratory and with other departments.
- Offer guidance to accommodate time-off requests.- Maintain emotional maturity in stressful or STAT situations.- Demonstrate excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Work in a confidential manner and adhere to schedule reliability.- Display flexibility and willingness to undertake other duties as assigned.
- Contribute positively to the hospital's workplace culture.- Ability to lift / move up to 15 lbs. independently and heavier weights with assistance.
