Position Overview

This is a skilled position requiring the individual to manage a variety of functions related to the Transportation / Logistic operations within Staker Parson.

The individual must have a strong understanding of construction, paving and material distribution business as they relate to transportation.

The Shipper will be responsible for maintaining efficient logistic operations. Position reports to the Dispatch Manager.

Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)

• Prepare & direct drivers daily activities
• Manage Same Day Orders for various project and operations
• Must be customer service oriented, both internally and externally
• Check and review all orders assigned before they are shipped
• Identify Logistic Opportunities
• Coordinate deliveries with company truck drivers and external trucking companies to ensure timely delivery of materials to customers
• Maintain professional demeanor in stressful conditions
• Be able and willing to work flexible hours including overtime
• Reliable attendance is essential to performance in this role
• Responsible for a safe work environment for themselves and co-workers
• Other duties and responsibilities related to the nature of the job may be assigned on a temporary or permanent basis as needed

Requirements / Education / Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent or equivalent experience in related function
• Construction / Transportation Related Experience preferred
• Must be able to effectively multitask
• Computer skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
• mathematical and communication skills

Physical Environment

• May require additional lifting of up to 25lbs
• Endure intermittent climbing, bending, stooping, twisting, reaching, pushing and pulling
• Walking and standing for long periods of time
