Job Description

Vice President, Finance and Accounting

Responsibilities :

The individual in this role manages aspects of the day-to-day workflow of the Finance and Accounting team and supports the Director of Finance and Accounting.

The Vice President, Finance and Accounting is responsible for the following :

  • PSG’s consolidated financial statements, along with the annual audit process and preparation of analyses / memoranda related to the GAAP and IFRS treatment of various items in the financial statements
  • Reviewing account reconciliations and preparation of financial statements
  • Analyzing financial results for the current reporting period versus prior reporting periods
  • Quarterly and annual management reporting and financial reporting required by the Brookfield Asset Management corporate team in Toronto
  • Management reporting required by senior management
  • Managing the day-to-day work of staff members
  • Working closely with the Director of Finance to assist with executive-level reporting / communications

Candidate Education and Experience :

  • Professional accounting designation (e.g. CPA or equivalent), with at least 6-9 years of Public Accounting’ (or similar) experience preferred
  • Strong financial background, ideally with experience in financial services
  • Demonstrated ability of leveraging information technology to achieve business objectives
  • A history of project or team management preferred

  • Ability to function with minimal or no supervision
