Title : Medical Assistant Float (MA / CMA) - Pain Management

Employment Type : Full Time

Work Hours : Monday through Friday - 8 : 00AM to 5 : 00PM

City : Moline

State : Illinois

Position Responsibilities :

  • Greeting and escorting patients to exam rooms; preparing for provider's visits by obtaining initial information and vital signs
  • Checking patient's medical records for pertinent data; reviewing and maintaining accurate patient information / demographic data
  • Ensuring all required intake paperwork is complete and accurate
  • Inspecting exam rooms for cleanliness and equipment condition; stocking and maintaining rooms and clinic stations with adequate supplies
  • Assisting the provider with exams and procedures using sterile technique
  • Ordering / scheduling any procedures or tests that are needed
  • Drawing up and assisting with injections, obtaining ultrasound unit, and preparing for provider use
  • Entering data into proper systems
  • Communicating messages from patients to providers; answering messages from patients as instructed by the provider
  • Educating patients and their caregivers regarding specific care as instructed by the provider
  • Maintaining patient confidentiality and complying with all HIPAA rules and regulations

Requirements :

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Medical Assistant diploma or certification
  • One year of prior medical assisting experience is preferred
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs and assist in lifting patients up to 300lbs
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
  • Ability to effectively communicate and interact with patients, families, and staff from diverse backgrounds
  • Knowledge of personal computer applications and Electronic Medical Record
  • The ability to travel between Illinois and Iowa clinics is required
