VP of Claims - Chubb Agribusiness

Job Description

Works with Chubb NA senior claims management to monitor and enforce company best practices for the equitable settlement of claims within limits of Company policy and authority and in accord with legal regulations.

Provide administrative leadership within the Claim Department to one or more Claim teams. Participates in short and long-range planning for efficient operation of department and provides the best possible service to customers and public.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Assists in development and implementation of claims policies and plans for prompt and equitable processing and settlement of claims.
• Provides administrative leadership to all types of claims handled within Agribusiness to include Auto PD and Liability, GL and First Party Property.
• Selects, trains and evaluates staff.
• Develops goals and standards or performance specific to Agribusiness due to claim-handling system differences.
• Approves authorized adjusters and maintains adjuster control.
• Approves authorized attorneys and compensation arrangements.
• Submits regular updates to Agribusiness senior management on individual large losses, specific CAT event experience and claims trends
• Participates in short and long range planning for improved operating efficiency and service to customers and policyholders.
• Assists property and casualty team leaders in the evaluation and settlement claims within stated authority.
• Assists property and casualty team leaders in establishing case reserves on pending claims within stated authority.
• Responds to Department of Insurance Complaints
• Provides updates as needed to corporate CAT team
• Provides commentary to CTR slides and participates in business unit Quarter Close Meetings as requested.
• Liaison with Agribusiness IT on claim-related reports and system enhancements.
• Coordinates on-boarding of new claims employees with Chubb and Agribusiness HR, Security and IT.
• Performs other related duties as required or assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelors Degree
• Minimum 7 years progressive leadership experience in a Claims environment
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
• Excellent communication skills
