The Varsity Tutors Live Learning Platform has thousands of students looking for online AP Computer Science Principles tutors nationally. As a tutor on the Varsity Tutors Platform, you'll have the flexibility to set your own schedule, earn competitive rates, and make a real impact on students' learning journeys—all from the comfort of your home.

Overview

Why join our platform? Base contract rates start at $18 / hour and increase for specialized subjects. You'll earn incrementally higher pay for each session with the same student—reaching up to $40 / hour. Get paid up to twice per week, set your own hours, and tutor remotely using our Live Learning Platform. We match you with students best suited to your teaching style and expertise. Our AI-powered Tutor Copilot enhances your sessions with real-time instructional support, lesson generation, and engagement features to save prep time and help you focus on impactful teaching. We handle the logistics; you invoice for your tutoring sessions, and we take care of payments.

Responsibilities

  • Tutor remotely via the Live Learning Platform and deliver 1-on-1 online instruction to students.
  • Use the AI-powered Tutor Copilot and platform tools to support lesson planning, delivery, and student engagement.
  • Adapt instruction to individual student needs and learning styles.
  • Invoicing and payment processing are handled by Varsity Tutors; you focus on tutoring sessions.

What We Look For In a Tutor

  • Strong communication skills and a friendly, engaging teaching style.
  • Expertise in AP Computer Science Principles and the ability to explain concepts clearly.
  • Ability to personalize lessons and adapt to different learning styles.
  • Preference given to candidates with tutoring or teaching experience and graduate-level education.
