Job Description :

This position is responsible for supporting the CFO in all billing and accounting functions.The group is responsible for all incoming and outgoing cash receipts on a heavy volume basis.

You will be performing the day-to-day financial transactions including verifying, properly classifying and recording accounts receivables data.

RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Record all cash and credit card receipts and circulate daily deposit listing to Partners
  • Review and record bank debits daily
  • Process and record check requests and expense reimbursements
  • Record credit card expenses
  • Prepare and transact all outgoing wires
  • Prepare and transact internal bank transfers (retainers, trusts)
  • Preparing bills, invoices and bank deposits
  • Track outstanding balances and follow-up with clients and attorneys
  • Prepare and record Journal Entries
  • Assist in documenting procedures
  • Respond to Partner requests in a timely manner.
  • Assist and support the CFO with all accounting related functions, ad-hoc assignments, and special projects

QUALIFICATIONS :

  • 4+ years of accounting / billing experience (preferably in a law firm environment)
  • Proven ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records
  • Experience with Trust accounts
  • Proficient in MS Office, specifically Excel and Word.
  • Self-directed individual that knows what needs to be done and operates with a sense of urgency, professionalism, focus and discipline.
  • Excellent attention to details.
  • Excellent oral / written communication skills.
  • Ability to exercise good judgment, be highly organized and proactive.
  • Above all, possess the highest standards of ethics and confidentiality to handle sensitive information.
