Litigation Associate

About the role :

We are looking for a two-to-five year litigation associate with very strong research and communication skills, one who enjoys and excels at writing and has an impeccable eye for detail.

We prefer a background in commercial and employment litigation, and candidates must be admitted to the California bar.

The ideal candidate will have commercial and / or employment litigation experience, particularly representing financial institutions, as well as a broad understanding of federal and California procedural and substantive law.

We are seeking candidates from large and established firms in California or smaller firms where they have handled sophisticated matters.

The associate will be responsible for drafting pleadings, motions, memoranda and correspondence for use in state and federal courts, arbitration, and mediation proceedings.

They should also have experience in drafting and responding to complex discovery requests; conferring, negotiating, and communicating with opposing counsel;

and preparing for, defending, and conducting depositions. The firm regularly tries cases, and the ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing exhibit lists, evidentiary objections, and motions in limine and assisting with witness preparation.

Most of our associates / of counsel bill approximately 1850 hours per year. Our client base includes numerous financial institutions, high tech companies, and C level executives.
