Responsibilities
Summary
This position has the primary responsibility of providing therapeutic program services to inmates. It is assigned a specific caseload of inmates and monitors the service delivery for them while they are enrolled in the program.
These services may include didactic, psycho- educational, individual and group counseling, peer awareness activities, therapeutic encounters, crisis intervention and recordkeeping.
The Counselor / Case Manager provides these services within the scope of local certification, licensure and credentialing authorities and in accordance with internal and external assurances and prohibitions.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for a caseload of clients with duties such as treatment planning, case consultations, individual therapy, group therapy, concurrent reviews and other routine activities associated with clinic functions.
- Conduct sessions daily and submit documentation daily.
- Perform psychosocial evaluations on an as needed basic.
- Attend all staff meetings. Attend, participate and when necessary, help facilitate all special events, such as conferences, trainings, etc.
- Must be flexible with work hours, changes in scheduling, substituting for team shortages and able to adjust to clinic needs.
- Support and demonstrate adherence to the Code of Ethics and Client Rights.
- Role Model of pro-social behaviors.
- Maintain appropriating certificates and credentials. Expected to maintain an 80% productivity record based on census and or caseload size.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
- A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college with a major in chemical dependency, psychology, social work, counseling, nursing (with a clinical specialty in the human services) or other related field and one (1) year of clinical experience (a minimum of 1,820 hours) in a health or human service agency, preferably in a drug and alcohol setting.
- If a person’s experience did not take place in a drug and alcohol setting, the individual’s written training plan shall specifically address a plan to achieve counseling competency in chemical dependency issues.
