Position Summary
The Department of Pediatrics is seeking a Genetic Counseling Assistant to join our team in a full time position within the division of Clinical Genetics.

We also have several active Clinical trials available to our patients. This position will support the department by providing clinical and administrative support to our Clinical Genetics team.
Responsibilities
- Assist with referral management by reviewing incoming referrals.
- Assist with pre-visit preparation, including the collection of relevant medical records, lab reports, and patient intake forms.
- Make reminder phone calls for upcoming patient appointments.
- Assist in processing, packaging and shipping specimens and preparation of samples for genetic testing in a timely manner.
- Obtain and coordinate insurance pre-authorization for specialized laboratory testing.
- Scan and upload documents into the electronic medical record system.
- Provide clinical and administrative support to the Clinical Genetics team.
- Performs related duties and responsibilities as assigned / requested.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in education and experience required, plus two years of related experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiar with medical terminology.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Able to work both independently and in teams.
- Proficiency in Spanish.
