EDR is seeking versatile, team-oriented candidates to join our Engineering Team as an Electrical Engineer in our Syracuse or White Plains, NY offices.

Your expertise will contribute to ensuring the safe, efficient, and sustainable operation of vital water and wastewater treatment and conveyance systems within commercial and institutional facilities.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, including civil, mechanical, process, and automation engineers to understand electrical needs, project objectives, critical success factors, and to develop the corresponding electrical deliverables.
  • Refine your professional skills under the mentorship and direction of seasoned electrical engineering professionals.
  • Participate in the evaluation and assessment of electrical systems to accommodate changes in electrical demand, improved energy efficiency, and renewable and sustainable energy sources to achieve electrical resiliency, and to comply with new and emerging electrical codes.
  • Design electrical power generation and distribution systems including; medium-voltage secondary unit-substations, medium and low-voltage power distribution equipment including switchgear and motor control centers, protective relaying and metering, electric service calculations, generators and transfer systems, lightning and surge protection systems, motors and motor controls including variable frequency drives, indoor / outdoor lighting systems, fire alarm systems, wiring methods and grounding systems.
  • Prepare design documentation (specifications, construction drawings, cost estimates) and basis of design reports to support the construction of new electrical systems.
  • Work within AutoCAD and Revit to develop detailed electrical design documents to identify equipment mounting locations, power and controls one-line diagrams, elementary wiring diagrams, panel schedules, etc.
  • Development of power studies including system modeling and written reports for load flow analysis, short circuit, coordination and arc flash studies.
  • Work from the Syracuse, NY or White Plains, NY office and collaborate with distributed teams. An estimated 15% of regional travel may be expected to perform site reconnaissance, witness of electrical tests and demonstrations, and to evaluate conformance with design documents.

Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering with 7-10 years of related experience .
  • Ability and personal interest in obtaining EIT certification and Professional Engineering license.
  • Possess a solid understanding of NFPA 70 and other electrical industry codes, local codes, and industry standards.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit.
  • Working knowledge of SKM Power Tools is a plus.
  • Excellent problem-solving, reasoning, and analytical skills with a detail-oriented mindset.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel within the US without restriction.

White Plains, NY office : The anticipated base pay range of $100,000-$125,000 per year is commensurate with experience.

Syracuse, NY office : The anticipated base pay range of $85,000 $100,000 per year is commensurate with experience.
