Nursing – Assistant Director, Surgical Services

Duties :

The Surgical Services Assistant Director is a member of Surgical Services Management Team responsible for the operational management of the Operating Room, organizing and directing nursing activities and acting as liaison for Hospital and Administration.

The Surgical Services Assistant Director may also function as the acting Director of Surgical Services in the absence of the Director, with responsibility for supervising and directing nursing activities of all Surgical Services units and administrative programs occurring during assigned shifts.

Qualifications :

Licensed & currently registered to practice professional nursing in New York State. BSN Required. MSN preferred. Specialty Certification preferred.

BLS and ACLS required. A minimum of three years progressive leadership experience appropriate to position, in an acute care general hospital is required.

5 years’ experience in Med / Surg / Critical Care preferred. Physical capability of safely executing the duties and responsibilities required of the position.
