JOB TITLE :

Part-Time Advising Aide

JOB PURPOSE :

Provide essential support to the advising team within the College of Business by assisting students with academic planning, course selection, degree requirements, and holistic development opportunities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

• Providing front-line support to students through in-person, email, and virtual advising sessions.
• Assisting students in understanding degree requirements, course sequencing, and academic policies.
• Collaborating with academic advisors to facilitate student success workshops, information sessions, and academic planning events.
• Maintaining accurate records of student interactions and advising appointments on Navigate.
• Collaborating with faculty and staff within the College of Business to enhance advising resources and support services.
• Assisting with special projects as assigned by Assistant Director, or Director of GJSSC.

REMOTE WORK ELIGIBILITY :

This position provides vital support to campus customers and requires the successful candidate be available to work on campus.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :

• Bachelor's degree in business administration, counseling, education, or a related field.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with diverse student populations.
• Knowledge of academic advising principles, college policies, and degree requirements and curriculum.
• Experience working in higher education, student services, or related fields.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and student information systems (., Banner, Navigate).
• Commitment to promoting student success, retention, and graduation rates within the College of Business.
