Role Description : Data Engineer Role Purpose :

As a Data Engineer at Wasabi, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining the data architecture that underpins our data-driven decision-making processes.

You will work closely with data scientists, analysts, and other stakeholders to ensure our data is accessible, reliable, and ready for analysis.

Responsibilities :

• Data Pipeline Development : Design, build, and maintain robust data pipelines to acquire, ingest, and transform data from various sources into a usable format for analytics and reporting.
• Database Management : Manage and optimize databases, ensuring data quality, integrity, and performance. Implement data partitioning, indexing, and storage strategies to improve query performance.
• ETL Processes : Develop efficient Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) processes for cleaning, enriching, and transforming data, ensuring that it meets the needs of data consumers.
• Data Warehousing : Build and maintain data warehouses or data lakes for structured and unstructured data storage. Ensure scalability and manage metadata.
• Data Modeling : Create and maintain data models that support the analytical needs of the organization. Collaborate with data analysts and scientists to develop models for advanced analytics and machine learning.
• Data Security : Implement and maintain data security and privacy measures, including access controls, encryption, and compliance with data protection regulations.
• Monitoring and Optimization : Monitor data pipelines and database performance, troubleshoot issues, and continuously optimize the system for efficiency and scalability.
• Documentation : Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for data infrastructure, processes, and best practices.
• Collaboration : Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, analysts, and software developers, to understand data requirements and deliver solutions that meet business objectives.

Requirements :

• Bachelor's or higher degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role.
• Proficiency in data pipeline and ETL development using tools like FiveTran, DBT, or similar technologies.
• Strong database management skills, including experience with SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and experience with platforms like Amazon Redshift, Google BigQuery, or Snowflake.
• Familiarity with data modeling and data architecture best practices.
• Programming skills in languages like Python, Java, or Scala.
• Experience with data integration and workflow orchestration tools.
• Experience with Salesforce & Snowflake
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Adept at working in a collaborative team environment.
• Preferred Qualifications :
• Certification in data engineering or related field.
• Experience with : FiveTran, DBT, Git Actions, Tableau
• Knowledge of data governance and compliance standards.
