Job Summary
The Teacher Aide I is responsible for providing overall assistance to the teacher by assisting in designing and delivering instructional systems and therapeutic treatment plans for school-age children.
The Teacher Aide is responsible to provide A.M. residential assistance and supervision of students during A.M. and P.M. transportation.
Job Duties / Essential Functions
- Assist the Teacher with instructional planning and implementation, keeping records, setting up activities, and any other duties deemed necessary by the teacher.
- Support implementation of the behavior modification system and provide crisis prevention techniques within the classroom.
Provide supervision whenever necessary.
- Fully perform restraints as necessary when ordered by a licensed professional using the current approved KidsPeace restraint methodology on youth who may weigh in excess of 250 pounds and who are verbally or physically threatening or otherwise presenting a threat to themselves or others.
- All other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications (Education, Training and Experiences)
- High School Diploma Required.
- Pursuant of an Associate / Bachelor's Degree in Education, Special Education, Child Development, or a related field preferred.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Valid driver's license required.
- Ability to obtain SCM certification and CPR / First Aid certification during New Associate Orientation.
Rate : $15-$18 hourly, opportunities to work in the summer
