Position : Special Education Teacher
Location : Dolton, Illinois
Employment Type : Full-time, Contract
Responsibilities :
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs, focusing on academic, social, and emotional growth.
- Provide direct instruction and support in a resource classroom setting to students adapting curriculum materials and teaching methods to meet diverse learning styles and abilities.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to ensure the successful inclusion of students with disabilities in the general education environment.
- Conduct ongoing assessments to monitor student progress and adjust instruction accordingly.
- Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that fosters a sense of belonging and promotes student engagement and success.
Requirements :
- Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Valid teaching license or eligibility for licensure in Special Education (Illinois certification).
- Experience working with students with disabilities.
- Strong understanding of special education laws, policies, and best practices.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
