About this unit5 Surgical is a 24-bed unit with all private rooms. We primarily care surgical and trauma patients, these surgeries include bariatric, general, trauma and gynecological patients.

Although our focus is surgical and trauma related, we also care for patients with medical conditions as well. We are equipped to monitor up to 8 patients on portable telemetry monitors.

The Surgical Unit is a wonderful place to advance in your nursing skills to include critical thinking, time management, assessment, and patient satisfaction.

We are a talented and engaged team that is focused on patient safety and have maintained high-quality scores. Trenton is a Magnet Designated hospital with Level Two Trauma, and Stroke Certification.

The Clinical Nurse provides quality patient care under the direction of the Nurse Leader according to Corewell Health policies and procedures.
