Job Summary

Ensure consistency and stabilization of key business functions across all 16+ academic programs for which the Academic Programs department at Georgia Tech Professional Education (GTPE) is responsible.

Oversee common business practices across all programs and lead the day-to-day operations for the Academic Program department's portfolio of 16+ academic programs, which serve more than 8000 students.

Responsible for setting employee goals, assessing employee performance, providing feedback, and making pay recommendations.

This position will interact on a regular basis with : Faculty, staff, and students. This position typically will advise and counsel : Faculty, staff, and students.

This position will supervise : Assigned staff : Business Analyst II, Digital Communications Specialist, Engagement and Events Manager and Sr., Writer / Editor

Responsibilities

Job Duty 1 -

Oversee the daily operations of an academic unit and its various components, ensuring compliance with university, local, state, and federal policies, and regulations.

Job Duty 9 -

Provide project management for program-based initiatives.

Job Duty 10 -

Perform other related duties as assigned.

Job Duty 2 -

Develop or assist with the development and implementation of policies and procedures consistent with those of the organization to ensure efficient and safe operation of the unit.

Job Duty 3 -

Manage personnel, which includes work allocation, training, promotion, enforcement of internal procedures and controls, and problem resolution;

evaluates performance and makes recommendations for personnel actions; motivates employees to achieve peak productivity and performance.

Job Duty 4 -

Participate and coordinate the design and implementation of data collection and analysis systems for the unit, to include computer, and / or network systems, applications programs, and administrative procedures.

Job Duty 5 -

Review and interpret operating information, as appropriate; coordinate and develop periodic operating analyses and prepare business reports for senior university officials;

may participate in the preparation of contract and / or grant proposals, and other reports provided by the unit.

Job Duty 6 -

Represent the organization at various community and / or business meetings, committees, and task forces; promotes existing and new programs and / or policies.

Job Duty 7 -

Direct one or more specified operating and / or service activities within the unit, as appropriate.

Job Duty 8 -

Contribute to the development of annual operating budgets.

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements

Master's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Required Experience

Three to five years job-related experience building long-term relationships with educational agencies.
