A Day in the Life
As a Highwoods Assistant Maintenance Technician, you will be part of a team that strives to provide best-in-class service to customers in a 670,000 sq.
ft. sub-urban Class A office park and retail center in the Nashville Market. We're seeking someone passionate about crafting dynamic experiences and fostering a sense of community for our diverse customer base within the portfolio.
Assist the Maintenance Team in the performance of a variety of duties as necessary to complete work orders in a timely manner and perform routine Maintenance Porter tasks as assigned by Property Manager and / or Maintenance Technicians.
Represent Highwoods Properties in a professional manner to customers, vendors and the general public. Work independently and as part of a team, dependent on assigned tasks.
Participate in and follow the guidelines of the safety program as directed by the Safety Coordinator.
Work Performed :
Perform a variety of maintenance / handyman tasks, as assigned, which include but are not limited to the following :
- General upkeep of all interior and exterior common areas of the portfolio to include garages, building entries, vacant suites, and retail areas.
- Interior and exterior painting.
- Exterior pressure washing.
- Exterior litter pick up.
- Interior and exterior light bulb replacement.
- Irrigation repairs.
- Concrete and paver repairs.
- Building and roof inspections.
- Snow removal (seasonal).
- Assist maintenance technicians in the performance of their duties (minor plumbing and HVAC).
- Assist in maintaining the maintenance shop, electrical, and storage rooms.
Job Requirements :
- Maintain a current Tennessee Driver's License.
- Independent, responsible, and hard working.
Education / Experience :
High School Diploma or GED required.
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration.
The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme outdoor conditions (cold / hot weather, wind, precipitation).
The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. Must be comfortable working on the roofs of office buildings and climbing ladders.

The employee must occasionally lift, push or pull up to 50-pound items. Specific visual acuity required by this job include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision;
and depth perception. Ability to read, understand, and to communicate information and ideas clearly in writing and orally required.
