Position Overview
As the Field Sales Engineer PAC NW , you will be the principal sales liaison with an established network of contacts within the PAC NW region Pacific Northwest (WA, OR, ID).
In this role you will be responsible for developing and expanding these partnerships. Your primary responsibility will be to cultivate and maintain relationships with new and existing customers, consult with them on the selection and integration of our products and engineered solutions, and to generate new comprehensive sales opportunities.
This position demands a keen understanding of electrical systems, an ability to consult with clients and a drive to exceed sales quotas.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development :
- Identify and target electrical contractors and engineering firms in the Pacific NW.
- Actively prospect and generate new business leads.
- Establish and maintain a robust sales pipeline (Salesforce).
- Develop and implement a formal EC sales strategy for the region.
Consultative Sales :
- Collaborate with customer to understand their specific power generation needs and challenges.
- Develop customized solutions and proposals to meet their critical power requirements.
- Provide technical guidance and information on product specifications.
Relationship Management :
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers and partners.
- Grow account base through warm / cold calling and in-person meetings.
- Attend industry events, trade shows, and networking functions to expand GPS’s market presence.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for customer inquiries and support.
Sales Targets :
- Achieve and exceed all sales targets and revenue goals.
- Meet or exceed assigned gross margin targets.
- Sustain assigned pipeline volumes.
- Provide accurate sales forecasts and progress reports to the management team.
Team Collaboration :
- Collaborate with internal teams, including engineering, marketing, and project management.
- Work with all departments of GPS to ensure a seamless customer experience.
- Provide feedback to the management team based on customer needs and market trends.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, or related technical field (preferred).
- 5-10 years technical B2B sales experience, specifically in the electric & power generation industry.
- Technical understanding of industrial power systems, diesel generation, electrical distribution, switchgear automation, energy storage, UPS, microgrids, hybrid power, renewable energy, and power system controls.
- Experience selling complex turnkey projects.
- Ability to establish and maintain relations at all levels of an organization.
- Exceptional communications and interpersonal skills.
- Strong presentation skills, in person and online.
- Strong computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Suite, Salesforce, Outlook).
- Resourceful and motivated to find innovative ways to achieve results.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently,
- Willingness to travel within the defined Pacific NW region (30-50%).
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
