Welcome to the Center for Family Life in Sunset Park
Center for Family Life (CFL) is a social services organization that aims to promote positive outcomes for children and adults in Sunset Park, through the provision of a comprehensive range of neighborhood-based family and social services.
Sunset Park is a densely populated, low-income neighborhood with a large percentage of recent immigrants. As such, the Center offers access to resources that families need to thrive, including family counseling, cultural, educational, and recreational programs at neighborhood public schools, adult and youth employment programs, and tax services.
Situated within CFL's range of services, the Cooperative Development Program helps low-income immigrant workers start and scale their own businesses in order to earn a living wage.

The role :
The administrative assistant provides general administrative support for the cooperative development program and the self-employed tax program, through general office duties and data entry.
What you'll do :
- Answer phone calls and schedule appointments for the tax program.
- Receive Co-op and Tax clients in the office, make sure they all fill out intakes.
- Guide / refer clients to the appropriate space to receive services.
- Organize and maintain clients' records.
- Coordinate logistics for meetings and workshops.
- Send follow-up emails to workshop participants.
- Collect and review paperwork to process instructors' payments.
- Maintain physical and digital filling systems.
- Capture and update information in databases and spreadsheets.
- Operate office equipment, including printers, copiers, and fax machines.
- Work with staff to order and stock new office supplies when necessary.
- Keep a record of the program's credit card payment receipts and report this information.
- Support with other daily administrative tasks.
What we're looking for :
- Bilingual English / Spanish required
- High School Diploma or Equivalency Diploma (BA is a plus)
- Professional and clear communicator
- Experience in customer service, preferred
- Highly organized and able to manage time efficiently
- Detail-oriented, dependable, and proactive
- Excellent organizational skills
- Computer skills : MS Office suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel), Teams, Outlook.
Work Schedule : Full-Time, 35 hours / week, 9 : 00AM - 5 : 00PM . You are expected to work 5 days a week in our Sunset Park, Brooklyn office.
Ideal start date : September 1st, 2024
Salary (dependent on experience) : $36,000 - $40,000

$36,000 - $40,000 per year
