Position Responsibilities :
- Performs technical tasks associated with the localization of tumors.
- Review dosage calculations for accuracy prior to radiation treatments; delivers prescribed dosage of ionizing radiation to patients undergoing therapy.
- Observes and reports changes in patient's condition to Lead Radiation Therapist.
- Records treatment administered on patient's chart.
- Prepares examination room; explain procedures and assist patients in preparing for examination or treatment.
- Reviews set-up of equipment and patient positioning.
- Assists other radiation therapist in planning treatment involving the use of dosimetry procedures and isodosing curves.
- Monitors adherence to radiation safety factors on the unit.
- Maintain equipment in safe and satisfactory working condition; stock and replenish supplies as required.
Qualifications :
- CRT License and ARRT License required. CRT License and ARRT must be obtained within 6 months of hire
- 2- 4 year degree in ARRT approved radiation therapy program.
