A rapidly expanding law firm specializing in personal injury, property damage, and landlord-tenant law is seeking a Litigation Attorney to join its Habitability Department. This position is ideal for a skilled litigator with a passion for advocating on behalf of tenants in disputes involving substandard living conditions and other landlord-tenant issues. The role offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic, team-oriented environment and directly contribute to achieving justice for underserved communities.

Duties

  • Handle all aspects of litigation, including strategy development, pleadings, discovery, and motion practice
  • Provide clear, strategic legal guidance to clients throughout the litigation process
  • Represent clients in court proceedings, depositions, and settlement negotiations
  • Supervise and delegate tasks to support staff, including paralegals and law clerks
  • Ensure adherence to court deadlines and procedural requirements
  • Formulate and execute case strategies that align with client goals

Requirements

  • Active membership in the California State Bar
  • Minimum of 1–2 years of litigation experience, preferably in habitability or landlord-tenant law
  • Ability to manage multiple active cases independently
  • Strong time management and organizational skills

    • Education

    Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

    Certifications

    California State Bar admission in good standing (required)

  • Strong legal writing and oral advocacy skills
  • Analytical thinking and strategic problem-solving
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
